About this piece
back to topA 19th century English pine fluted fire surround.
Handcrafted circa 1800, this Georgian style fireplace is presented with a stripped, natural finish.
This understated fireplace has a hand carved, fluted design that stands upon narrow jambs with a repeating leaf pattern framing the opening.
A small line of beading is delicately carved between the frieze and mantle, adding another texture to the framing.
The stripped finish has left the light pine wood tone which would suit modern and traditional properties alike, or with the addition of a wax or stain the subtle features could be brought out to elevate the piece.
