About this piece
back to top18th Century Georgian English pine fire surround.
Handcrafted circa 1780 in the Georgian era, presented in a waxed finish.
Fluted pilaster columns extend the length of the jambs, finished with classical lion masks on the corner blocks and reeded details along the frieze.
A battleaxe runs the whole length of the frieze hidden behind the centre plaque and reeds, adding an eye catching asymmetrical quality to the piece.
A maiden surrounded by Putti depicting a harvest scene finishes the piece below a simple mantle.
