Salvaging from history to provide treasures for the future

History, telling the stories of the past and letting them live again in the future, is core to everything we do at UK Heritage. So let us also share with you a little piece of our own history.
We’ve been buying and selling architectural heritage pieces since the grand old year of… 2006. Yes we may seem relatively young in the world of antiques, but thanks to our dedicated and experienced team our knowledge knows no bounds.
Our business was founded by Ben Couchman, a man dedicated to learning about the history of every piece he comes across. He knows a thing or two about architectural antiques, and can often be found scouring the UK and Europe to uncover decorative or functional architectural treasures that deserve their chance to shine again.
Our home in Herefordshire
Our impressive rural site in Herefordshire is currently home to over 2,000 antiques. Arranged around a courtyard, it includes an 18th Century barn as well as three large, modern warehouses. It only takes a quick walk around some of our dedicated showrooms to almost feel each piece jumping out at you, begging to share their stories and add to yours.
Our philosophy
Sustainability and ethical responsibility are the buzzwords of today and while it’s easy to say this is a priority, it is often a little more difficult to prove. However, our business model relies on both.
We don’t buy or create new. We reuse, recycle, and give architectural antiques that were once destined for disuse an opportunity to continue creating history. Everything is antique and unique. We also do not sell items that contain ivory or that are dangerous to health or the environment.
Who we work with
In our time we’ve supplied a little piece of history to interior designers, architects, retailers and private clients across the world. Our list of previous customers is quite impressive too, having worked with Cambridge and Oxford Universities, Claridge’s and Warner Brothers, to name just a few.

Ben
Ben is UK Heritage’s founder and company owner. He has a great eye for beautiful and historic pieces and loves nothing more than helping each architectural antique write a new chapter in its history. His knowledge of each piece is unparalleled. A walk with him around our showrooms can often feel more like a personal tour of a museum you didn’t even know existed.

Emily
Emily is UK Heritage’s Content Writer and Marketing Coordinator. You can find her upstairs in the office researching our items and telling the story of our unique architectural antiques. She also writes a range of content for our blog including insights into the varied styles of different historical eras, useful buying guides as well as in depth looks into notable makers and creators of times gone by.

Will
Will is UK Heritage’s Yard Supervisor. From the moment an architectural antique enters our yard to its delivery to you, Will ensures that every item is carefully processed and safely stored in our warehouse or displayed in our gallery and showroom spaces. When he’s not in the yard, Will can be found out on the road in the van delivering your items to you across the width and breadth of the country.
