back to topA pair of late 19th century glazed stoneware garden urn planters attributed to LEFCO, reclaimed from the garden of a large house in Birmingham. If looking for an additional set, we have a further pair available under Stock No. 36433.
These stylish antique urns date to around 1890, showcasing beautiful semi-fluted forms with a lappet border on raised square bases in a mottled brown and cream glaze, complimented by characterful weathering.
Whether used as planters or decorative ornaments, these glazed urns will look striking as a central element in any garden.
Leeds Fire Clay Company (LEFCO)
The Leeds Fire Clay Company (known as LEFCO) was established in 1889 following its amalgamation of 5 existing firms to become the largest clay working company in the country. Specialising in items such as terracotta, bricks and tile, Lefco was one of the major manufacturers of glazed architectural ceramic products of the late 19th and early 20th centuries before the company’s closure in 1957.
