About this piece

‘Elevate’ is an interesting and unusual mosaic plaster cast sculpture capturing the upper back, shoulders and arms of a figure by British contemporary artist, Jim Cooper.

This lifesize fragment of the human body is depicted with arms raised as if in motion, creating a sense of movement. The choice of varying blue mosaic tiles creates a rather mesmerising effect, matching another lower portion of a figure that we are selling under Stock No. 38461, perhaps cast from the same person.

Freestanding, this artwork piece will make a striking figurative sculpture for an interior, best suited to a contemporary gallery or modern collector.

While not much is known about the artist, Cooper’s works are distinguishable at first glance, capturing the human form in various poses across many mediums. We recently acquired several pieces from the studio of Jim Cooper which can be found in their own exclusive collection on our website here.
