back to topA 19th century French armorial crest.
This is a nineteenth century carved and polychrome decorated coat of arms panel is dated to circa 1820.
The crest shows daggers, moons, stars and striped themes. Either side two crowned maidens face inwards, holding hands above the shield. One with a sickle and grain, the other holding a ships anchor.
Above, a large colourful crown is finished in red, green and yellow.
Along the base of the piece reads ‘Garde La Foy’ meaning keep the faith.
