back to topA pair of Victorian neoclassical lead garden urns with intricate designs of griffins, putti and floral patterns. Unusually and impressively large for lead urns of this period.
Standing on a wide circular base, this pair of Victorian urns are banded around the base with a geometric design beneath a wrapping of rich foliage. Above, two highly detailed scenes of winged putti surrounded by animals. The rim is finished with a moulded rope design.
Each urn has a spectacular pair of scrolling griffin handles, miraculously still in tact after all these years. The handles have an almost oriental look, blending with the neoclassical themes throughout these urns would suit all manner of locations.
