About this piece
back to topA brilliant example of a large naturally-occurring blacknite quartz crystal specimen sourced from Ambositra, Madagascar, presented on one of our exclusive painted display bases.
Blacknite is a beautiful mineral of the goethite/hematite variety, displaying a natural iridescence of colours across the crystals including pink, purple, black, yellow and blue. Blacknite specimens like this one with prominent crystal clusters in superb iridescent colours can only be found in the Ambositra mine, Madagascar and one other specific mine in South Africa.
This striking and unusual specimen comes with an exclusive painted plaster plinth as pictured, making a striking feature of a collector’s cabinet.
