About this piece
back to topA large and elegant antique wood and glass hanging lantern, circa 1800.
Unlike other lamps similar to this in style which are traditionally made from metal, this lantern is crafted completely from pine with handcrafted elements and later fitted with clear glass. For this reason, we believe it to be rare and early in origin, possibly originally used with an oil burner.
A stylish addition to interiors period and modern alike, this hanging lantern has a worn paint finish, carvings of foliage leaves to the base and a flame finial to the top bringing instant interest and grandeur to any space.
Height is for lamp body. With addition of hollow tube, +46cm to height.
