back to topDetailed with simple guilloche carving across the frieze, this antique mahogany fireplace is a beautiful surround for any setting. It dates from the beginning of the 20th century and has a wide mantel above moulded jambs with a pair of carved roundels to the end blocks. The design across the frieze comprising of a series of circular bands is called guilloche carving and adds a hint of Neoclassical style detail to this otherwise understated surround. At over 100 years old, it is in good condition and has a stripped, natural wood finish that will sit in pride of place in any setting.
