About this piece

An abstract mid-century stained glass mosaic by Tony Attenborough.

This highly unusual abstract piece is made from thick, coloured glass fragments framed in copper and linked in a rigid mesh.

The vivid handmade glass uses pleasing analogous colours with deliberate pathways of white and scatterings of bronze throughout.

An ethereal design that appears to move and flow even though it is rigid. The scattered pattern resembles light reflecting off moving water.

We are fortunate to have a collection of six works by British stained glass artist and teacher Tony Attenborough, most with the remnants of submission tickets to the London Royal College of Arts. The series of works Attenborough presented to the London Royal College of Arts are all housed in thick, painted wooden frames. The glass is placed in irregular sections and heavily overpainted and etched to add depth and texture.
