About this piece
back to topAn abstract mid-century geometrical stained glass by Tony Attenborough.
This highly detailed and expressive work shows a triangular design over a square and rectangular backgorund. The glass is framed into a series of smaller trapezoids with vivid colours and checkerobard paintings.
The series of works Attenborough presented to the London Royal College of Arts are all housed in thick, painted wooden frames. The glass is placed in irregular sections and heavily overpainted and etched to add depth and texture.
This piece is shown in both orientations as it works well in either.
We are fortunate to have a collection of six works by British stained glass artist and teacher Tony Attenborough, most with the remnants of submission tickets to the London Royal College of Arts.
