About this piece
back to topA 19th century ornate door lock and key.
Crafted in England, dating to circa 1800. The lock mechanism is cased in oak and bound in decorative iron embellishments to the front.
The bow and shaft of the key appears to be part restored, with the post and bit showing the original material. This lock would have been fitted to a door or even a chest or coffer.
Still in working order, it could be retrofitted to a period door by a skilled craftsman.
