About this piece
back to topA 19th century neoclassical stripped pine fire surround.
Hand made by highly skilled English craftsmen circa 1890, this profusely carved walnut fire surround is presented in a stripped, waxed finish.
Blending Georgian and Neoclassical styles, almost every part of this piece has a unique detail to discover. Scroling foliate designs dress the jambs carved in high relief, spilling from the frames.
Above, oversized corbels scroll underneat the mantel, centered by and ornate swag of lucious blooming flowers across the fireze.
