About this piece
back to topAn early 19th century heraldic stained glass window showcasing a red glass armorial crest between banners reading the Latin ‘Spero’ (I hope or I trust) and ‘Lux Mihi Laurus’ (the laurel is my light).
The coat of arms sees a shield displaying a rampant lion and a fleur-de-lis separated by horizontal red banner. To the centre of the window is a knight’s helmet among red and white foliates while a rising or rousant eagle sits to the top.
One of four similar windows we have for sale, this antique stained glass window has two hoops for hanging to the top, ready for placing in front of a light source to bring it’s details to life.
