Clément Massier

Clément Massier is considered to be the founder of the modern ceramics industry. Beginning his career in 1853, Massier and his family created a dynasty of ceramicists that can be traced back to the French Revolution.

Favouring artistic creations over utilitarian pottery, the company pioneered the invention of iridescent ceramics. After his passing in 1917, Messier’s daughters continued the family legacy who reissued their father’s works.
