White Marble Bust of a Young Woman by Eduardo Rossi

An elegant white marble bust of a woman by Italian sculptor Eduardo Rossi (1867 – 1926). This small female marble bust captures her feminine profile exceptionally in white statuary marble, her facial features beautifully carved and her hair loosely swept back into a ponytail. It is signed to the back by the artist and is over 100 years old, dating from the late 19^th / early 20^th century. Eduardo Rossi was an Italian sculptor, born in Naples.  He studied under Achille d’Orsi (1845-1929) who was known for working in the Verismo movement of Italian Realism.
