A set of three Luristan bronze spear heads & blades.

An intriguing set of ancient blades and spearheads, made from bronze which over time has become heavily oxidised and patinated. These potentially iron age examples date back to 1000–650 B.C, thought to be Luristan bronze, crafted by the semi-nomadic tribes of the Zagros mountains.

Each with a raised central midrib for structural strength, each has a long, thin tang designed to be inserted and bound into a wooden shaft.

To the left, a bronze spear head. The triangular form has a curved rat tail tang, with a total length 17cm.

In the middle, a bronze blade with triangular form and an unusual triple fuller to both sides. This blade is likely from a ceremonial short sword or spear, with a total length 19cm

To the right, another bronze spear head, with a leaf shape blade. A total length 17cm.
