About this piece
back to topSeventeen beautifully handcrafted Georgian wrought iron balustrades, circa 1790. Crafted at the hand of a talented 18th century blacksmith, these metal balustrades are an excellent quality example of old English ironwork.
Ornately designed, these antique balustrades are nearly all made on an angle, previously used as railings for a staircase. They could be used in the same way in the modern day, bringing beautiful English craftsmanship to a traditional garden balcony or patio steps. Alternatively, they could be repurposed in many ways and styled into a garden scheme – the possibilities are endless!
