About this piece
back to topAn impressive large plaster maquette horse sculpture of 20th century champion racehorse Red Rum by sculptor Annette Yarrow. This would’ve been used to create the original in bronze.
Red Rum was a thoroughbred steeplechaser who won the esteemed Grand National at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool three times: first in 1973, then again in 1974 and finally in 1977. Commissioned in 1978, this maquette by Annette Yarrow (B. 1932) stands at half life-size, depicting the stance and profile of champion racehorse Red Rum in lifelike detail. This impressive horse statue is a spectacular display piece for the interior of a prestigious countryside estate or a spacious converted barn where Red Rum can be enjoyed in all its glory.
