About this piece

After the antique “Picture Gallery With Views Of Modern Rome” Reproduction Print on Canvas After Giovanni Paolo Panini.

This canvas print is a highly detailed reproduction of Giovanni Paolo Panini’s 1758 masterpiece ‘Modern Rome’ which was replicated three times by the artist. The original is at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, while the second is at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. A slight variation is held in the Louvre.

Presented in a large scale, the canvas has been skilfully aged with craquelure throughout with some sections removed, however the paint remains stable and secured to the canvas. The back of the canvas has a stamp for the Paris art supplier L. Besnard.

Our display easel is not included, but is a perfect way to display a work such as this.
