Patrick Reyntiens Stained Glass
Born in 1925, Patrick Reyntiens was one of the leading stained glass artists in Britain of the 20th century. Studying at the Edinburgh College of Art, Reyntiens career flourished following the second world war where he found himself part of something of a stained glass renaissance.
Together with artist John Piper, Reyntiens created some of his finest works including the monumental baptistery window in Coventry Cathedral in the 1950s, rising from bombed-out ruins, and the lantern window at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral.
Described as “the leading practitioner of stained glass in this country”, Reyntiens is highly celebrated for his contribution to stained glass, some of which is displayed at the V&A Museum, London.
