About this piece

An elegant pair of antique French cast iron trough planters with a zinc finish, dating to circa 1900.

Characterfully weathered, each metal planter shares a sweeping, tapered design with a decorative draping edge, sitting on raised feet. They are decorative as well as substantial, with plenty of planting space to house an array of colourful flowers and small shrubs.

Wide and narrow proportions make these French troughs perfect for use as window planters, but they would look equally as beautiful positioned either side of a gateway, lining a stone path or situated wherever you envision them in your garden.
