Condition Report

Good structural condition. The urns have a patinated finish. The pedestals have paint scuffs and chips. The pair of foo dogs on each urn are detachable. One of the tails of the dogs has been replaced.

A pair of antique Chinese bronze urns on columns, suitable for interior use. The foo dog handles are engraved with detailed patterns complimenting the turned out shape of the urn and patinated finish.

Originating in China, foo dogs resemble Chinese guardian lions, representing prosperity, success, and guardianship.

Dating to circa 1870, the urns are perfectly accompanied by an elegant pair of ebonised turned wood pedestals. Their square bases and octagonal tops display egg and dart mouldings.
