About this piece
back to topThis pair of 19th century church doors date back to circa 1850.
Made of sturdy English oak, these large scale doors are of exceptional quality. Ornate iron hinges with a floral theme made by skilled blacksmiths spread out from the hinges.
The leaves grow outward from the handle in a pleasingly timeless style. On the inside, the intricate carpentry is on full display with the symmetrical square construction. The substantial ring latch mechanism has a twisted metal handle above to pull the half door closed. The doors are rebated.
