About this piece
back to topAn original English Georigan era cast iron bread oven manufactured by Stothert of Bath (later Stothert & Pitt).
Dating back to circa 1820, this unusual piece is one complete unit with a working latch and opening door revealing a spacious internal space for cooking. Another similar example by Stothert can be found in the No. 1 Royal Crescent Museum in Bath, showcasing what life would’ve been like as a member of the wealthy Georgian elite!
Today, this substantial cast iron oven would make a brilliant feature of a country kitchen – it could even be used as a unique built-in pizza oven!
