Good structural condition. Black graphite finish. Transports as 1 complete piece. Fire cement on the two inner sides is a bit worn. Some movement to the fireback during transportation but it is secure.
Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses, scuffs, and scratches.

This late 19th century fire basket is a handsome example of traditional 19th century craftsmanship, the front legs drawing attention with their handcrafted wrought iron spiral finials.
The fire back is most unusual, cast with two figures with backs to each other and arms raised – certainly a talking point for any chimneypiece!
