William Blake Memorial
A larger than life size bronze bust of the historic poet, painter and engraver, William Blake was unveiled in the poet’s corner of Westminster Abbey in 1957. Sculptor Sir Jacob Epstein fixed his masterpiece to a pillar and inscribed ‘William Blake 1757-1827’ to a plaque attached.
Dating to 2017, this bust by John W Mills is a take on the iconic memorial and an ode to the influential work of William Blake, while highlighting Epstein’s fine craftsmanship.

Throughout his distinguished career, Mills went on to receive several prizes and accolades and many notable commissions.
