Goddard and Gibbs

Established in 1868 Goddard and Gibbs were a renowned stained glass studio producing traditional and contemporary pieces for various churches all over the world.

The company was initially established as Walter Gibbs & Sons on Blackfriars Road in London before the studio was taken over by James Clark & Sons, and in 1938 acquired Goddards Glass Works.

The was later taken over by James Clark & Eaton, and in 1978 the studio was bought by Charles Clark.

Their chief designer after this was John Lawson (1932-2009), who had joined the firm in 1970 from Faithcraft.

Goddard & Gibbs continued to keep continuity in the quality and design despite the various changes. The company is now based in Corsham, Wiltshire, and continues to thrive.
