About this piece
back to topAn antique George III Neoclassical style fireplace salvaged from a property in Guildford. Dating from circa 1790, this understated fireplace is constructed in pine and ornately applied with composition detailing. It is a beautiful example of an original 18th century design, perfect for traditional townhouses and contemporary cottages alike.
A classical scene of four women looking over a sleeping child is beautifully handcrafted into the tablet, completed with birds of prey surrounding an emblem on either end. Elegant foliage moulds run down the detailed jambs.
