About this piece

An early 20th century bronze figure of a nude man throwing a rock, marked 1905 to the base along with a monogram of the letters ‘S’ and ‘W’. Mounted on a contrasting white marble plinth, this antique bronze sculpture will make a handsome interior display piece in any space with its timeless bronze patina and classical theme.
Possibly inspired by ancient depictions of Discobolus, the man takes an athletic stance with one foot forward, shoulders low and right arm stretching back as he prepares to skim a large stone.
