A vibrant mix of intentionally fused glass set deep into a hand tooled composite. Each window its own creation, blending different hues and textures of glass to cover an array of colours. From each orientation, the blues resemble the sun setting over reflecting pools of water. Small amounts of green are reminiscent of foliage, seemingly deliberately overwhelmed by warmer colours of a dawn or dusk scene.
Housed in a bespoke metal frame, this piece is ready to display. Ideally as a dividing screen or backlit, so the full effect of the works can be illuminated as intended.
A.E. Halliwell
Albert Halliwell studied at Southport School of Art from 1923 to 1926, and then at the Royal College of Art until 1926. He designed posters for the Southern Railway and several airport authorities. In the late 1930s he taught part-time at Bromley and Beckenham Schools of Art and in 1938 he was appointed to a full-time post at Camberwell. In 1948 he took up a post at the Central School of Arts and Crafts and remained there until 1970. (Source: The London Transport Museum)
