About this piece
back to topA very heavy and beautifully hand carved solid English oak Jacobean style fireplace. This spectacularly detailed antique fire surround dates from the early 20th century but showcases influences of earlier Tudor and Jacobean styling, instilling it with an aged character. Look closely at the frieze and you’ll discover a carved female mask on the central tablet among scrolling foliage which continues onto each of square column jambs, carved with urns holding fruit. Ornate and highly detailed, this antique oak fireplace is certain to look impressive wherever it is situated.
