Wrought Iron Gate Overthrow
Decorative ironwork made from wrought iron has stood the test of time. This traditional method of craftsmanship sees the metal heated to a high temperature and then hammered into shape by a blacksmith’s hand, creating a robust and durable finish.
The more wrought iron is worked, the stronger it becomes, making some of the most ornate garden ironwork some of the strongest. Large scale commercial production of wrought iron products ended in the mid 1970s due to the expensive and time-consuming nature of blacksmithing, making wrought iron items true antiques, showcasing talented craftsmanship of the past.
