About this piece

A 36-piece set of 6-inch tiles by W. Godwin of Lugwardine in Herefordshire, perfect for use as an antique tile splashback, porch floor or fireplace hearth. Dating from the 19th century, these antique tiles together form an eye-catching geometric pattern consisting of black, blue and red colours that bring life and interest to even the smallest of spaces. These reclaimed tiles are over 150 years old. As such, each has a characterful, timeworn look with scuffs and marks here and there that only enhances the beauty of these striking patterned tiles.

While we have arranged these antique tiles as pictured, they are not fixed and can be re-arranged in a desired pattern or shape to suit your interior project.

Godwin Tiles

William Godwin began manufacturing quarry tiles, bricks and drainpipes at his factory in Lugwardine, Herefordshire in 1851. In later years, William went into partnership with his son and traded as ‘Godwin & Co’, a name that would become reputable until long after William’s death in 1925.
