About this piece
back to topA mid 19th century antique statuary white marble sculpture of a youth wearing a toga, possibly a young St. John the Baptist in the manner of Italian neoclassical sculptor Luigi Bienaimé (1795-1878). This marble statue came from a private collection in Bristol. The curly haired boy is depicted in a walking stance with palms together and wears a sheepskin toga, depicted in exquisite detail.
