An antique Italian pietra dura table top on a carved marble base.

The circular top has a gilt bronze beaded border, decorated with a central medallion of a bird perched in a cherry branch with an outer-border of 37 various specimen marbles including Porphyry, Onyx, Lapis lazuli, Sienna brocatelle, Breche d’alep, Violet brocatelle and Agate, carefully inset into black marble.

This striking top sits on a white statuary marble pedestal displaying a beautiful foliate design with a reeded carved baluster column and a triform scrolling acanthus carved base.
