About this piece
back to topThis antique English oak Tudor revival fireplace dates back to circa 1890.
With an impressively large scale and patinated stripped back finish, this fire surround would make a striking feature in a period property.
The fireplace features a mantlepiece and overmantel above. The opening is edged with carved moulding, giving a clean finish.
Above the mantle, a triptych of arched panels are recessed into the wood, seemingly ready to be dressed with house crests or heraldry. Each arch has delicately carved pilasters and sopraporta on each. Left blank, the lighter finish lends itself to more than just period properties.
