About this piece
back to topThis antique English oak Jacobean revival fireplace dates back to circa 1900.
With an impressively large scale and rich patinated finish, this fire surround would make a striking feature in a period property.
The fireplace is dressed with two friezes, the first being below a shelf. Ornate scrolls and floral motifs are intertwined in the shadow of the mantle, waiting to be lit by the flames of an open fire.
Above, three deep panels recessed into the overmantel tie into the themes of the opening below. The outer footblocks have pilasters running all the way up to the overmantel frieze. A string of geometric jewellery shaped carvings in high relief run across the top.
