About this piece

This antique English oak arched door with frame was reclaimed from a church in Hampshire. Crafted from beautiful quality solid oak, it is brimming with character.

It is unweathered, having previously been situated in a sheltered location, and as such has a handsome oak colour to both sides that showcases the natural woodgrain. Below its sweeping arch is a tiny unglazed window, serving as a peephole, that only adds to this door’s unique character.

It will make a brilliant exterior door, perhaps as an arched front door to match the aesthetic of a country cottage or as a character feature of a contemporary home. Alternatively, it could form part of a walled garden, where exposure to the elements over the years will instil it with an aged, weatherworn look.
