About this piece
back to topA patinated bronze sculpture of a seated nude man by Belgian sculptor Alexandre Ouline (1918-1940).
The seated figure, thought to be that of an athlete, resting his chin on his hand in a pensive pose highlighting his muscular body and finer features. Ouline has left this piece with a sense or realism and imagination as he sits deep in thought, perhaps working out his next athletic move.
Signed to the bronze base on which the figure sits, this sculpture is of an excellent quality and subject; the handsome patina and tinos green marble base only highlight and enhance the overall work of the sculpture.
