About this piece
back to topA very wide George III pine fire surround with composition (Gesso) detailing. An original of the Georgian era, this traditional English fireplace is typical of styles of the period, the frieze embellished with a range of ornate details.
Musical instruments decorate the centre tablet including a harp, trumpets, flute and sheet music among oak leaves and wheat sheafs, while each end block is detailed with neoclassical urns and stylised dolphins.
Thanks to its large scale and intricate details, this antique Georgian era fireplace is a superb addition to a large room, looking stylish in Georgian and Regency townhouses or as a feature of more modern spaces.
