About this piece

An interesting set of hand painted tiles in gilt Frames with countryside scenes.

Finely painted with exceptional detail, these two scenes have themes of still water and reflections. Presented in Gilt Gesso frames, the detail is so fine that only on physical inspection does it become obvious they are on tile.

Above is a coastal scene looking over white cliffs on a bright summers’ day. Below appears to be a calm highland loch, possibly Loch Katrine, with a mountainous landscape in the background.
