About this piece
back to topThis 19th century roundel depicting Sir John More dates back to circa 1890. Finely painted with high detail after Hans Holbein the Younger, More is pictured in a deep fur coat wearing the Collar of Esses.
The gold chain is finished with a Tudor rose, which is obscured by the lead frame. The red glass gives this piece a vibrant glow when lit from behind.
