About this piece
back to topA 19th century pair of neoclassical Italian walnut lions.
Formerly a set of handed architectural brackets, presented in a French polish finish. Finely carved to an exceptional quality.
Each handed sculpture is a monopodium, wrapped in acanthus style leaves, which continues into a foliate silhouette of a lions body. Behind the head is a flat surface, indicating they may have been the base of a shelf or cabinet.
