back to topA beautiful antique English carved oak fireplace made in the 19th century but utilising earlier 16th to 17th century and later parts to the frieze and corbels.
This is an impressive fire surround made completely from oak with a deep and alluring patina. Its most decorative feature is its abundantly carved frieze, decorated with cherub masks and an array of scrolling foliage. Below, two great jambs line either side of the square opening, each carved with double iconic columns below ornate corbels.
Heavy, deep and substantially constructed, this antique carved oak fireplace is a visual delight of design and craftsmanship, certain to impress in any setting.
