About this piece

Two elegant 19th century classical spelter figures on yellow fossilised marble bases, dating to circa 1850.

This decorative pair of classical sculptures – one modelled as a seated female observing her reflection in a mirror, and the other as two females, one standing, one seated, with a scroll of parchment in hand – are perfect for placement either side of a mantelpiece, sideboard or console table, bringing an air of grace and sophistication to any setting.

Each is mounted, not fixed, to a natural fossilised marble base with an attractive yellow hue that creates a beautiful contrast of colour alongside the bronzed metal ornamental figure above.
