Dated to circa 1600, this mythical panel incorporates a set of symmetrical seahorses above a set of wings in opposing orientation.
An unusual subject for the time, this carving is made with intricate details of wings, feathers, grooves and flowers. Hand tooling marks can be seen throughout this authentic piece.
Most likely from a larger piece, the panel has been expertly set into a later added frame which strengthens the wood.
