About this piece

An early 20th century antique English stained glass window detailed with the Southampton crest. This stained glass window is one of a series of panels we are selling from towns and cities on the coasts of the British Isles.

Located on England’s south coast, Southampton has been a famous liner port since the mid 19th century. In 1912, it saw the RMS Titanic embark on its maiden voyage. Today, it is home to some of the largest cruise ships in the world.

The Southampton Coat of Arms depicts a shield divided in two, the top half of which is traditionally styled with two roses, matching another larger Tudor rose below.

Southampton’s long-standing maritime heritage is reflected in this stunning window by the two diamond-shaped panes, hand-painted with old English sailing ships.
