About this piece
back to topTo discover a pair of gates this small is a rarity. At more than 300 years old, they are a beautiful example of early ironwork and craftsmanship, intricately handmade with delicate scrolls and geometric detail. Over the years, the fine details have remained intact, tarnished only by natural signs of ageing such as rust and old paint. At 111cm high, they may not serve a practical use in 21st century gardens as gates, however they could instead be used as decorative iron panels on a wall or window.
